Peter Francis Priolo age 79, of Valrico went to his eternal home on Friday, September 19th surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in New London, Connecticut and lived in Waterford during his childhood which was spent playing baseball, cheering for his New York Yankees and Giants, and exploring the neighborhood with friends.

Peter ran track in high school where he met his sweetheart and companion of 61 years, his wife, Dianne. In1964, he left the East coast to attend a Jesuit University, Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri, earning his bachelor of science degree in Marine Biology in 1969.

Peter and Dianne were married in 1969 and welcomed their first son, Todd, in 1970. Soon after, they made the decision to move to Riverview, Florida. He joined INA/Cigna soon after and moved up the ranks during which time they welcomed son Michael and daughter Amy. With hard work, he secured a Vice President's position with Lykes Brothers Insurance where he finished his career.

Peter was active in his children's activities including being Cub Master of Pack 83, coaching multiple soccer teams at the same time, and assisting the Brandon Area Youth Soccer League through his leadership and refereeing games.

He was one of the first members of Resurrection Catholic Church in Riverview, assisting Monsignor Antonio Diaz through his work on the Parish Council and remained active through the years with the Angel Tree and food pantry.

A lifelong athlete, Peter stayed in amazing physical condition through running, golfing, and working on various projects for himself and his children. He scored his first hole in one in July, 1967 and second and final hole in one July, 2023.

Peter is survived by his wife Dianne, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. He will be greatly missed, and the family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all those who have supported us during this time.
