Paul Blythe, 75, of Brandon died Sunday, June 21, surrounded by family at his home after a brief illness. Born in Pembroke, Ky., he served in the U.S. Air Force 27 years, attaining the rank of chief master sergeant. He served in Korea and Vietnam and received the Purple Heart in Vietnam. After retiring from the service to Brandon 31 years ago, he worked as an agent at various real estate offices and on the Crosstown Expressway; enjoyed the outside, gardening and nurturing his orchids; and basked in the love and camaraderie of family, friends and neighbors. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Elizabeth J., and their devoted children, Paul (Bobbie) Blythe Jr. of Palm Beach Gardens, Victoria Blythe of Lakeland and Douglas Blythe of Brandon. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Overton and step-father Bernice Overton and by his beloved grandmother, Beulah Frith. Viewing and memorial gathering will be at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009.
