Paul Joseph Barber, 75, of Lithia died suddenly the evening of June 22, 2016. Born in Spokane, Washington to Harland and Violette Barber in 1940, Paul loved the outdoors but especially the mountains and the ocean. In 1959 he married the beautiful Penny Maureen McKinney (d. 2008) and together they had three children: Danette Miller, Ty J. Barber, and Bonnielee Amberg. After moving to Minnesota with his family, Paul was a successful businessman and entrepreneur in the food service industry; a career which catered to his passion for travel. During this time Paul saw the births of his four grandchildren who kept his affinity for mischief ever ready. Following retirement, Paul and Penny moved to Florida to enjoy the balmy winter sand year-round opportunities to golf. Paul was a loving man who challenged those who knew him to never stop dreaming or achieving. His service in the Marine Corps embedded in him a deep love for his country and a dedication to serve his community which he built on by working in several elections. His playful sense of humor and ready smile brightened many lives and he is sorely missed by his 3 children and their families. An animal lover his whole life, Paul is also remembered by his loving canine companion. May he find peace and love. Semper Fidelis.
