Patrick "Herman"
Bush
August 26, 1933 — March 2, 2020
Bush, Patrick "Herman", 86 went peacefully home to heaven on March 2, 2020. Herman was a Palm River / Tampa Native. Herman had his own business hauling countless tons of fill dirt and shell to many local residences and businesses. He used his draglines for digging lakes, shell pits etc. He could grade a road with his eyes closed most of Palm River, Progress Village, Riverview and Ruskin he contributed his experience and knowledge of helping form the landscape. Herman was no stranger to getting a little greasy working on his equipment and keeping it in pristine shape, along with refurbishing John Deere Tractors in his spare time. If you needed a hand, he was the man who helped. He helped many people keep roadways passable and it was okay if you couldn't pay that day, a firm handshake and a nod was good enough. I bet most of you reading this just agreed about that firm handshake.
Herman met the love of his life Betty Davis they married and had three children. L. Steve Bush, Brenda S. Bush, and Gary P. Bush. Herman is proceeded in death by his beautiful wife of 61 years Betty, son Gary and grandson Gary Jr., Sister Guilda Lord, and parents Otis & Inez Bush.
Herman is survived by his loving family, son Steve Bush, daughter Brenda Bush, brother Carter T. Bush, sister- in- law Diane Davis, 14 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren, cousins and many nieces and nephews along with countless lifelong friends. Herman will be missed by all who knew him.
I'm sure your busy drinking sweet tea eating crab chilau and probably fixing a road or two. We know we will see you again.
A celebration of life will be held in Herman's honor at a later date, due to the current health concerns and the CDC guidelines.
A special Thank You to Dr. Elizabeth & Joel Biggerman, Dr. Daniel Hoffman & Staff, Heather & Indigo Team at Life Path Hospice and Utopia Home Care.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:30 am at First Baptist Church of Gibsonton, the family will greet guests one hour prior to the service.
