Obituary

Patricia Nugent Jeansonne, M.D. On May 9, 2016, a beautiful sunny day, surrounded by turquoise blue water and her loved ones, Patricia Nugent Jeansonne unexpectedly passed away at the age of 67. Her loving family will miss her greatly: her husband and best friend, Jim; her children, Aime Jeansonne Becka (Scott Becka), Marcella Jeansonne Kloiber (David Kloiber), and Leo Jeansonne; her grandchildren Xander and Lexi Kloiber; and her mother, Addie Nugent. Pat was born in St. Petersburg, Fla., in 1948. She graduated from St. Paul's Catholic High School in St. Petersburg in 1966. She went on to attend Loyola University in New Orleans, where she met her soul mate and love of her life, Jim, her devoted husband of 46 years. Dr. Jeansonne graduated Cum Laude from Loyola in 1970, and received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida, College of Medicine, in 1977. She completed her internship (1978) and residency (1980) in Pediatrics at USF - Tampa General Hospital. The young family then moved to Brandon where she, along with Dr. Jerry Hough, established Community Pediatrics as one of the early pediatric offices in the area and served the community for more than 35 years. She served on the board of the Brandon Outreach Clinic, which she helped to establish more than 20 years ago as a free clinic where those without resources could receive the same exceptional care Pat always provided. "Dr. J" was loved by her partners, the staff and patients at Pediatric Healthcare Alliance. Her annual Easter Egg Hunt was a favorite for many area families and children, and was something she loved to do. She was passionate about educating parents and community about the importance of vaccines. There are not many people who grew up in the Brandon area who were not impacted in some way by Dr. J, and she will be greatly missed. On Sunday, May 22, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m., there will be a Celebration of Life for Pat at The Regent at Winthrop, 6437 Watson Rd, Riverview, FL, 33578.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the following organizations:

The Brandon Outreach Clinic
The Brandon Outreach Clinic, started more than 20 years ago by Dr. Pat Jeansonne and Dr. Stephen Parks, is an integral part of the healthcare system in the greater Brandon community. The clinic was started in 1989 with the goal of promoting health and wellness by providing quality healthcare services, at no charge, to people without access to basic care.

New Life Village
Based upon the model established by Generations of Hope, New Life Village is a unique inter-generational community conceived to encourage more people to adopt children who have been languishing in the foster care system. New Life Village offers a place to live and a community that the children can, at last, call "Home".

Shot@Life
Shot@Life supports the United Nations Foundation's efforts to provide global childhood vaccines.
