MONROE, Parker, 84, of Brandon, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013. Born in Manhattan, NYC, after serving in the Navy during WWII, Parker graduated from Princeton University in 1952. Following his graduation from college, Parker worked for 35 years for Caltex Petroleum Corporation, where he specialized in International Government Relations. For the past twenty years, Parker helped create and run Greater Tampa Bay PC User Group, where his gift for computers, keen intelligence, integrity, wit and mischievous sense of humor earned the profound respect of his colleagues. His greatest achievement, however, was the joy, love, and unwavering support he gave to his family and friends in his role as beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Parker is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sondra Lucelle "Lu"; children, Brad (and Eileen); Sondra Lynn; Debi; and Shawn (and Kim); eight grandchildren, Ace, Cassidy, Michael, Jessika, Bradford II, Billy, Lucy, and Nicole; and great grandchildren, Jude, Taylor and Luanna, and nephew, Charlie (and Teri) Osborne. A Memorial service will be held at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL, on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 with viewing from 2-4 p.m., and funeral at 4 p.m. with military honors.
