Oscar Jose Kanahan, 88, of Valrico, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at his residence. Born on July 26, 1932 in Falcon, Venezuela to the proud parents of Juan and Lucinda (Ramirez) Kanahan. Oscar moved from Venezuela to Chicago, IL when he was 21. He was employed at Sears Roebuck Co. There he met his wife of 52 years, Geraldine (Cimarusti) Kanahan and started his family. He moved to Florida & retired after 20 years as an insurance agent. He founded and became President of Hispanic Republican Club. Mark Rubio and Charlie Crist were amongst the guest speakers that came to the club.  He was very interested in politics and enjoyed watching Fox News . He also loved working on his numerous Word Search books.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years , Geraldine (Cimarusti) Kanahan; his daughter: Lucinda (Kanahan) Frost (husband Tim);  two sons: Ricardo Kanahan (wife Sara) & Marco Kanahan (wife Karla); two brothers: Kamal & Shariff Kanahan; a sister: Adonis Kanahan Ramirez; nine grandchildren: Alex, Devin, Alyssa, Nick, Nathan, Olivia, Harper, Cody & Chloe.

A Memorial Mass will be offered at March 10, 2021 at 1 pm, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Riverview, Fl.
