Obituary

Nowakowski, Ollie, 84, peacefully went to see the Lord on December 22, 2022 while at his winter home in Valrico, FL. He was born on August 26, 1938 to Walter Nowakowski Sr. and Dorothy (Zaleski) Nowakowski in Toledo, Ohio. He was married for 63 years to his loving wife Margaret (Emline) Nowakowski.

Ollie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a committed mentor in the building trade. Ollie had a vision and passion in creating beautiful family homes which began in Ohio, continued in the Brandon-Valrico, FL area from the early 70's until 1986 ending with the residential development of Greenhills. Ollie then continued his building passion in Waynesville, NC for over 20 years, creating amazing homes for his family and others, which included Hannah Springs. Ollie retired in 2002 in the Smoky Mountains, which he loved and also called "God's Country." During his retirement Ollie and his wife enjoyed traveling by motor home across the US, enjoyed many cruises, especially sailing to Alaska, and frequented many NASCAR venues.

Ollie is survived and sadly missed by his loving wife Margaret (Emline) Nowakowski, his sister Joanne (Frank) Johnoff , Maumee, Ohio, Sister-in-law Carol Nowakowski, Waynesville, NC, Connie Nowakowski, Holland, OH. His son Sam (Nancy Brocato) Nowakowski, Valrico, FL, his daughters: Julie Holcomb, Tampa, FL, Diane Nowakowski, Kingwood, TX, Audra (Duane) Dautel, Lenexa, KS, and Krista Cordovano (Fiance' Mike Oborn), Land O Lakes, FL; Grandchildren Frank (Andriana Paniagua) Nowakowski, Bloomfield, NJ, Samuel Nowakowski, Tampa, FL, Sarah (Fritz) Woelfel, Rye, NY, Kayla (Joshua) Ferraccio, Lakewood, CO, Christine Holcomb (Fiance' Matthew Conway), New York, NY, Jessica (Chadd) Peter, Tampa, FL, Alison Cason, Tampa, FL, Kate Dautel, Lenexa, KS, Patrick, Max, and Haylee Cordovano, Montvale, NJ, his Great-Grandchildren: Andrew, Mark, Michael, and Anthony Nowakowski, Bloomfield, NJ, Emmie and Axel Woelfel, Rye, NY, Cason Peter, Tampa, FL. Along with many nieces and nephews and special friends: Joe and JoAnn Swofford, Clyde, NC, and Stephen and Linda O'Brien, Bradenton, FL.

Ollie is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Dorothy Nowakowski Sr., Grand Rapids, OH, Brothers Richard Nowakowski, Holland, OH, Walter (Wally) Nowakowski, Waynesville, NC, and Great Grandson Gunnar Woelfel, Rye, NY.
