Odis Mae Peterman 75, of Seffner, Florida, formerly of Gary, IN, beloved wife of 52 years to David Peterman, passed away June 4, 2023, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 11, 1948.  The daughter of Clarence & Minola Long of Gary, IN.

Sis. Peterman was baptized at an early age into the Adventist Faith. She was the Community Service Leader, as well as the Health and Temperance Leader at Brunswick SDA Church before transferring her membership to Brandon, FL SDA Church.  She always helped family, friends and neighbors with anything they needed. She last worked at Bivona Medical. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking and spending time with family. She was an amazing wife, mother and granny.

Besides her husband, she leaves her four children Ingrid (Jermal) Jones of Florida, Brandon Peterman of Florida, Jason (Yecenia) Peterman of Florida, and Christina Sanchez of Georgia; 10 granddaughters, Dariel Donson, Jamiah Jones, Janell Jones, Bryauna Peterman, Whitney Peterman, Vanessa Peterman, Jazmin Peterman, Alshanae Collins, Chaniyah Collins, Kylee Collins; four grandsons Bryan Peterman, Jermal Jones Jr., Jaden Peterman, Dawsyn Sanchez; three great grandchildren  Aniylah Horde, Aamartat Em Hatap, Amari Peterman; six brothers, Allen (Glenda) Long GA, Stewart (Rose) Long IN, Clarence (Laura) Long IN, Benjamin Long IN, Alfonso Long IN, Joseph Long TN; eight sisters Naomi Moore IN, Mary Ann Ablack VA, Linda Long IN, Patricia Irby IN, Denise (Michael) Wheatley IN, Rose Long IN, Wanda Copeland GA, Cathy (Kendall) McDonald GA. ; also numerous nieces, nephews great-nieces, nephews and close friends; She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Minola Long. She loved God and her entire family with all her heart and always tried to lead people in the right direction.

A Wake service will be held at 4-6p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview, FL, followed by a Celebration of Life on Friday, June 16, 10a.m. at the Brandon S.D.A. Church in Brandon FL. All are welcome to attend. Serenity Meadows Funeral Home of Riverview, FL is in charge of arrangements.
