Odell Curtis Harrington was born on April 12, 1942 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He attended elementary school and
eventually graduated from E. E. Smith High School in Fayetteville.
Curtis joined the United States Air Force in August of 1963 directly after graduating from high school. He served 28.5
years active duty in Transportation Traffic Management (Logistics). During this time, he served in Germany (2), Clark
AB, Philippines; Saigon, Vietnam; Ethiopia; Teheran, Iran; Dhahran and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and Trabzon, Turkey.
In 1988 Odell retired from the Air Force. He started his new career as a Household Goods consultant with Stanley
Associates, Inc., for the U.S. Department of State. He also, served with the Department of the Army in Transportation
Movement Policy, and later served in the Traffic Management Division with the Department of the Air Force. During
this time, his position was Chief Passenger and Personnel Manager of Logistics at the U.S. Pentagon. He served in this
position for 23 years. He culminated over 50 years combined military and civil service duty. He finally retired from all
U.S. service in 2012, but never from the love of his country.
Odell is survived by his wife, Denise Harrington of Florida; son, Michael Kirk Harrington of Georgia; daughter, Shira
Odessa Harrington of Tennessee; 1 bonus brother, Phillip Harrington(Denise); step-son, Craig Baines of Florida; stepdaughter, Sandra Baines of New York; 3 brothers, Robert, Lassiter and Kenny Currie of North Carolina; 2 sisters, Glenda
Johnson of Maryland and Shirley Jones of North Carolina; grandson, Devonte Malone Harrington of California; 2 special
grandsons, Christiana and Amad Anderson, many other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, Riverview, FL with burial to follow at 1:30PM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with full U.S. Air Force Honors.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to his service, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home.
