Garcia, Nilsa, 75, of Ruskin, FL, passed away on May 25, 2016. Nilsa was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico on March 23, 1941, and at the age of 12 she arrived on the mainland with her family, taking up residency in Manhattan. She and her family lived on several boroughs during her youth. Nilsa married Edward S Garcia, and lived in NYC before finally settling in Central Islip (CI), Long Island, NY. While living on Long Island she worked for Grumman Aerospace Corporation before moving to FL in 1974. Nilsa worked for several local simulation companies in FL before retiring after 24 years of employment. Nilsa is preceded in death by her husband, Edward S Garcia and sister, Sandra L Benson, and is survived by her loving family, son, Edward Garcia Jr; daughter, Jacqueline G Larson and her husband Mark Larson; sisters, Vilma I Timko, Egda Migdalia Rosario, and JoAnn Rivera; grandchildren, Damien C Garcia, Jason Garcia, Todd E Garcia, Nicholas W & Maria Shindorf, Corey M Garcia, Rachel E Larson, and Jenna M Garcia; and several great-grandchildren. The family will have a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, or The American Red Cross. Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
