With sadness in our hearts but joy in our Lord for the resurrection that will reunite us, the family and friends of Miss Nettie E. Vogler, a long-time resident of Brandon, FL announce her passing early in the morning of December 23, 2019 while in long-term care at Hawthorne Health and Rehabilitation Center of Brandon, Florida. Known by almost all her friends and family as Miss Verna, she passed quietly in her sleep early that Monday morning. Miss Verna was the daughter of Dudley Augustus Vogler and Annie Myrtle Payne Vogler of Bowling Green, Florida. She was also the grand-daughter of the Florida pioneer family of Augustus William Vogler of Bowling Green, Florida. A. W. Vogler walked the woods and trails around Bowling Green before the city was begun. Miss Verna had one sister, Anne Ruth Vogler, who preceeded her in death on the very same date some twelve years ago - December 23, 2007. Neither sister was married, but they always loved their family. Miss Verna is survived by her nephew Mr. Delbert Moye of Wauchula, Florida and two nieces Mrs. Patsy Elrod of Frost Proof, Florida and Mrs. Margy Williams of Polk City, Florida. Miss Verna was an Optical Assistant with Bausch and Lomb until her retirement some four decades ago. She was always an active member of her church which included Temple Terrace Baptist Church of Tampa, Florida and Bell Shoals Baptist Church of Brandon, Florida.
