Obituary

Myron " Dusty" Yasiejko passed away on November 21, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Germany on March 8, 1946, Myron was the son of George and Magdalena Yasiejko and came to the United States in 1949 through Ellis Island as an immigrant
from Ukraine. As a highly intelligent and dynamic son, he graduated from Stuyvesant High School and joined the Army in 1964. He served as a military liaison in Berlin, Germany, until 1968. The Army taught the New York City boy how to drive a car on an airfield, handed him a "Clobber Map," and said get to work as a military spy focused on Soviet Union military capabilities in East Germany. He met and married Elke Bejenke in 1968, while in Berlin. Upon returning home with Elke, he earned the Associates in Science in 1970 from Queensborough Community College, his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1972 from the City College of New York, Bernard M. Baruch College, and in 1981 achieved his Master's Degree in business administration from the prestigious University of Chicago as the youngest graduate. Myron and Elke brought two children into this world, Darius, born in New York and Nadya, born in Illinois. They lived in New York, Chicago, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and ultimately Florida, where Myron passed. While separated for over a decade, Myron and Elke reunited while living in Pennsylvania and remained together until his passing. He loved his grandchildren greatly and always joked his return to Elke as a selfish way to spend more time with them as a complete family. When Myron retired from a very successful career as a business leader and Chief Executive Officer, they moved to Virginia and then to Florida to be closer to the grandkids and his daughter. As a man who loved a cigar and a book on his back porch. If you spent more than five minutes with Myron, you laughed. He was a magical teller of jokes and made it a point to communicate through humor. He also demonstrated complete calm amidst crisis, was never afraid of making difficult decisions, and thought deeply about most matters. This balanced personality made you want to be around him, and his interests were always in those he was with. For the fifteen years he battled cancer, he did so discretely and without fuss. The addition of Alzheimer's Disease complicated his simple but elegant life and the combination ultimately took him. Myron is survived by Elke, his son Darius, his daughter Nadya "Pixie, " his grandchildren Jared, Logan, and Magdalena " Pixie #2", his brothers Walter and Roman, their families and many friends.
