Minnie L. Wetherington, 74, formerly of Plant City and Valrico, Florida, passed away on February 12, 2021.  Minnie was born to Daniel and Henryetta Kirkland in Grand Ridge, Florida in 1946.  She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.  Minnie cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was so creative, she loved to sew and enjoyed making flower arrangements.  She was always singing and dancing around.  Minnie had a smile that was so contagious.  She led by example.  There was never a job too large or too small that she would not tackle.  Minnie was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman who will be missed everyday.

Minnie was preceded in death by her brothers, John Henry, Burley and David Kirkland.  Minnie is survived by her five sons and three daughters: James (Theodosha) Wetherington of Plant City; Daniel (Lisa) Wetherington of Sun City; Randy (Celina) Wetherington of Clearwater; John (Tammy) Wetherington of Quincy; Lisa (Mike) McFarland of Lakeland; Teresa (David) Wetherington of Valrico; Don (Christal) Wetherington of Louisana and Marie (Ken) Wetherington of Turkey Creek; 34 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 2 more great grandchildren on the way; her sister, Virginia Fulghum of Lakeland and her brother, Bryant Kirkland of Plant City.  She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, Riverview, FL
