Pettys, Michael "Eli", 62 of Valrico passed away January 29, 2022 at home.  He was born in Plant City, Florida and spent most of his life in the Brandon/Valrico area.  He graduated from Brandon High School and joined the Navy.  He worked for Peterbuilt and Freightliner for most of his career as an award winning salesman.  He was an avid lover of animals, the outdoors, and his family.  Mike was preceded in death by his father Randolf "Skeet" Pettys and brother Charles "Randy" Pettys.  He is survived by his loving mother Leona "Tiny" Pettys, daughter Ashley Pettys, and granddaughter Willow Brilynn Pettys who brought so much joy to his world.  He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Janice (Mark) Anderson and Reba (Sam) Ferlita as well as many nieces and nephews.  Mike was a lover of all animals, especially his cats.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay or any local pet shelter. Services will be held at Serenity Meadows in Riverview on Friday, Feb. 11 @ 3pm.  He will be transported to Bushnell National Cemetery to be laid to rest with his fellow brothers and sisters who proudly served.
