Perna, Michael Carmen, 64, of Valrico, FL, passed away on September 20, 2014. Mike was born on September 18, 1950 in Baltimore, MD [Anchor] to Michael and Anne Perna and was affectionately known as Peanut' by his family. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1967-1971 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for Mettler-Toledo Safeline as a field engineer for the last 8 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brandon. Mike had many different interests, he was an avid Harley Davidson rider, and enjoyed traveling, but by far his greatest joy was his family; he was a loving husband and devoted father. Mike had a kind heart and was loved by everyone who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael C. Perna, Sr. Mike is survived by his loving family, wife of 20 years, Cynthia Perna; sons, Dominic Perna, Jonathan Perna and Daniel Perna; mother, Anne (John) Foley; siblings, Bruce Kim Perna, Cheri Rudolph and Brad Perna; and many wonderful friends and co-workers. There will be a memorial service on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 4:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Brandon. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. Semper Fi.
