Melida Cuadrado Cabrera Cruz, 93, of Brandon, passed away on December 15, 2019. Melida moved from Puerto Rico to Florida to be with her son and daughter in law after Hurricane Maria. Although she loved being here with family, she missed her homeland Puerto Rico. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending church, singing in the choir, reading her Bible, and sewing. She was an animal lover and had many cats and dogs over the years. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Genaro Resto and her second husband, Ramon Cruz. Melida is survived by her loving family, son, Jose (Julia) Resto; brother, Manuel Cuadrado Cabrera; grandchildren, Lori Ann (Carlos, Jr) Cordova, and Lisa (Rob) Vega; great-grandchildren, Joel Resto, Shayna Nieves, Alec Vega, Joshua Vega, Jakob Cordova, Raquel Cordova, and Carmen Cordova; and great-great-grandchildren, Jazmyn Resto Garcia, Liliana Nieves, Meilani Nieves, Gianna Nieves, and Ariana Nieves; and many nieces and nephews in Puerto Rico. There will be a visitation on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 pm. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at 10:00 am at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
