Obituary

In loving memory of Marylea Ann (Primo) Snyders born 10/16/1943 and passed 10/11/2013. Marylea is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lt. Col, Jim Snyders, PhD; son Colin Snyders and his wife Carrie and granddaughter Ella; mother and father Ernie and Nellie Primo; nephews Chad Boyles [Lorie], Tyler Boyles [ Heidi] and children Hanna and Calvin; brother-in-law Robert Snyders [Alice]; Aunts Mary Dennis and her son Bob Dennis [Marykay], Ginger Obawa [Louie] and sons Bernie [Laurel] , Jim and Dennie; Harriet Primo and daughter LeAnn Stone, and cousins Paul Sarpellini [Alicia], Michael Ferency [Dottie], Dale Ferency [Maryann], Anita Jennen [Bob]. She was preceded in death by her loving sister Marva Boyles. Marylea was a Registered Nurse and practiced locally as a Charge RN at Doctor's Walk In Clinic and JSA Military Clinic. Her first RN experience was at the University of Michigan Hospital. Later she became the onsite Medical Director for the Fitzsimmons House Drug Treatment Center in Las Vegas and founded Counseling Action Project that provided substance abuse counseling. Marylea loved music and had a voice of an angel. She played the guitar and was active in directing children's church choirs. Her creative and artistic abilities inspired the co-ownership of a craft store, "The Strawberry Patch" in Valdosta, GA. Her passion for creativity has taken many forms and her talents have been shared with family and friends throughout the years. This passion included making blankets for the Ronald McDonald House. Her favorite pastime was reading and she had a large library. Marylea had an extraordinary compassion for all animals and wanted to do anything possible to help endangered species. Her compassion for butterflies resulted in a large butterfly garden that gave birth and nourishment to 1,000s of butterflies. Her community outreach included serving as President of several military Officer's Wives Clubs and International Women Organizations and Treasurer of a local chapter of Red Hats. She and her husband lived all over the world, including Japan, Crete, Philippines, Germany, Korea and Romania. Her travels included almost all the states in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Marylea's passion for helping and giving has touched many people. She gave to others her love, time, money and compassion for living life to its fullest. Now she has been given heaven's loving grace, free from all pain and suffering.
