Sawyer, Mary Jean, 74, passed away on May 10, 2019. Mary loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a caring spirit which led her to obtain her degree as an RN and to work as a director for an assisted living facility.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Malon Frank Gunner and Billie Jean Harrison; husband Freeman Slone; son, Shannon; and grandson, Shawn Slone. Mary is survived by her loving family, children, Richard, Ralph, Regina, Randa, and Rodney; 17 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
