Saunders, Mary Leona, 61, of Riverview, passed away on July 18, 2011. She proudly served in the United States Army and recently retired from the Army Corp of Engineers. She loved to travel, go on cruises, play golf and volunteer in her community. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Gladys Pfahler; and her sisters, Carol Rice and Donna Pfahler. Mary is survived by her loving family, husband, James Saunders; son, James D. (Lori) Saunders II; brother, Paul (Karen) Pfahler; sister, Judith Lehman; and grandchildren, James D. Olsen Saunders, III, Samantha Saunders, Ashley Saunders, Tiffany Saunders, Jesse Saunders and Jayden Saunders. There will be a service on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 11:00 am at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery.
