Patrick, Mary Joyce (Elliott), devoted wife and mother, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ at the age of 87 on July 9, 2014. Joyce was born January 15, 1927 in Lake Wales, FL. The daughter of Vera Timmons and Jacob Arthur Elliott, Joyce relished her 30 years as a volunteer, "pink lady" at the Brandon Regional Hospital. For over 50 years she was a devoted member at the First Baptist Church of Brandon, where she taught children's Sunday school. She loved the serenity of her beautiful flower gardens. Joyce is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, James R. Patrick, Sr.; her children, Mary "Kaye" Patrick and Jim, Jr.; brother, Tommy (Becky) Elliott and in-laws Bob (Jean) Patrick; sisters, Grace Sheppard, Mary (Jim) McCarty and Martha Lewis; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will take place 2 o'clock, Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Green and Dr. Jim McCarty (nephew) officiating. Interment to follow at a later date at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland, FL. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joyce's memory to the First Baptist Church of Brandon or LifePath Hospice.
