Mary A. Dorrico,  97, formerly of Connecticut and most recently Sun City Center, Florida entered into eternal rest on August 21, 2022  at LifePath Hospice in Ruskin, Florida.

Mary was predeceased by her husband of sixty-five years Joseph, her daughter Rosemary Dorrico Madia, her three siblings Rose Coppola, Angelina Coppola, and Nick Cataldo.

Mary, the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Cataldo of Stamford, graduated from New Canaan High School in 1942 and Danbury State Teacher's College in 1947. She married the love of her life Joseph on July 26, 1947 at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford, CT. Mary was an elementary school teacher in both Stamford and Greenwich Public schools, before retiring in 1977.

For sixteen years,  Mary and Joe split their time between living in their homes in Greenwich, Connecticut and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Always looking for a new adventure, they traveled the world visiting six of the seven continents, as well as most of the United States.

Mary was so fortunate to live in Kings Point Sun City Center, Florida where two nieces reside, and were able to take care of her since her daughter's passing. Mary is also survived by my many extended family members, friends and neighbors who lovingly came alongside Mary with phone calls, visits, meals, baked goodies, and chocolates to satisfy her insatiable sweet tooth, garbage/mail pick up, books, puzzles allowing her to remain in her pondview home, where she loved to observe the pond wildlife and enjoy her flourishing orchids. Her caregiver Marcia Wilson was a blessing to Mary.

Interment will be private at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery and mausoleum in Darien, Connecticut where she will rest eternally with her husband.

A celebration of life will  take place in Florida November, 2022.
