Mary Sue "Little Granny" (Freeman) Arnold, 82, of Riverview, Florida, went to sleep with the angels on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the LifePath Hospice House in Sun City Center, Florida after a brave battle with cancer. Mary was born July 30, 1934 in Alicia, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lunia (Gist) Freeman. Mary married Benny Bruce Arnold March 23rd, 1951, in Alicia, Arkansas. Mary spent most of her life working in various aspects of agriculture. From picking cotton in Arkansas, to fruit in California and Florida. She wasn't afraid of a hard day's work. Mary and her husband went on many adventures in different places before settling in Venus, Florida in the 70's. Mary loved to go fishing! She enjoyed being out in her yard, tending to the flowers. She enjoyed garage sales, bingo and playing cards. She loved to sew, quilt and crochet. Many a soul will stay warm for all the blankets she's crafted. Mary leaves behind her grandchildren, Billy and Heather Arnold of Riverview, Florida; Jason and Nique Pearce of Riverview, Florida; and Rocky Arnold of Lake Placid, Florida; her great-grandchildren, Brooke and Logan Arnold of Riverview, Florida. She is also survived by her brother James Freeman; Sisters Hazel Cook of Elkins, Arkansas; Mozel Frakes of Alicia, Arkansas; Carilla Stogsdill (Jerry) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly. Mary is preceeded in death by her husband, Benny in 1992; son, Eddie Joe Arnold in 2005; daughter, Peggy Sue (Arnold) Pearce in 2007. By brothers L.J., Earl and Burl, and sisters Corine and Virginia. Services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 at House - Gregg Funeral Chapel in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Visitation 10 a.m. to 11a.m., Service at 11a.m. with interment following at Arnold Cemetery in Swifton, Arkansas. Arrangements handled by Serenity Meadows in Riverview, Florida and by House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
