Armistead, Mary E., 68, passed away on December 17, 2013 after a long illness. Mary was born on January 1, 1945 in New York, New York to the late Rudolpho and Rogellia Aponte. Mary was the wife of William E. Armistead, Jr. She was the past president of the Women's Auxiliary VFW Post in Waldorf, Md. Mary loved to paint, go to the beach, travel, and be involved with her boys activities during their childhood. Mary was a strong willed person who would do anything for you. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Along with her husband, Mary is survived by two sons; William III (Wendy) and Darryl (Melissa), and grandchildren; Matthew, Donovan, Christopher, Christian, and Desiree'. A funeral service will take place on Sunday December 22, 2013 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home at 4pm. The family will receive guests from 2pm to the start of the service.
