Marvin Fletcher Burgin, age 88, went to his heavenly place of rest on October 16, 2012 while at his home in Plant City, Florida. Born in Crooked Creek, North Carolina, November 29,1923 to Thomas and Nancy (Gilliam) Burgin. He is survived by his wife Virginia (Katzenmoyer), with whom he just celebrated 63 years of marriage. Fletcher Burgin was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Navy. He retired from the produce buying division of the A & P Stores and started M.F. Burgin Produce on the Plant City farmers market. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Burgin, two children, Thomas Burgin (Rachel), Katherine Kershner (Joel), twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Burial Service will be on Monday, October 22, 2012 2:00 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida. Celebration of life will be Monday evening at 6:00pm at Fellowship Baptist Church in Thonotosassa. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Fellowship Baptist Missionary Fund. Fletcher and his wife were avid supporters of missionaries across the globe and nothing would make him happier than knowing more missionaries were blessed in memory of his home going.
