Mark Hulan Thornton, 46, of Ruskin went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 10, 2009. Born in Lakeland, Florida, Mark had lived in this area since 1979 moving here from Duette. He was a caregiver in the health care industry. A Baptist by faith, Mark enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. He is survived by his son; Andy Thornton, daughters; Stephanie L. Thornton, Marlee Thornton, mother; Evelyn L. Thornton, brothers; Gary M. (Phyllis) Thornton, Jon Thornton, nephew; Roland Thornton; and Mark's long time companion; Zandra Davis. Also surviving are his extended family and many friends. The family will receive friends at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Timothy Myers officiating. Committal and burial will be at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park immediately after the service.
