Mark Allan Thompson was born on September 25, 1960 in Ogden, Utah to Gloria C. Thompson and William H Thompson. He passed on
September 3, 2023 in Riverview, Florida.
Mark was a loving brother to his siblings Debbie, Chris, Bryan, Jennifer, and Jodie, and his step siblings, Karol, Kevin, and Kyle.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served faithfully in callings including Elders Quorum President,
High Priest Group Leader, Counselor in a Bishopric, Young Men's President, and primary teacher.
Mark served as a missionary in Panama and Costa Rica from February 1980 to February 1982.
Shortly after his return home, he was sealed to his high school sweetheart, Lisa Lynn Humphreys, in the Ogden Temple in September 16, 1982.
Mark and Lisa have three children; Mitchell, Chad, Amber, and daughter-in-law, Rachelle. They have two grandchildren, Malia and Ian.
Mark served 23 years in the United States Air Force, retiring in 2006. In 2007, he became a civil servant for the Air Force. Mark served in Desert Storm and completed a one-year remote tour in Korea. During his civilian career, he visited 78 countries.
Mark was a scoutmaster for 25 years, during which time, he assisted over 30 young men to become Eagle Scouts; including his sons. He was an Eagle Scout himself. Mark continued to serve as Assistant District Commissioner, Member of the District Committee, and Unit Commissioner in the Scouting community.
Mark enjoyed traveling to different countries and places. His hobbies included going on hikes, riding his bicycle, wilderness camping, and swimming. Being in nature was one of Marks's favorite things to do.
Mark enjoyed the arts, museums, and cathedral architecture.
He was a go getter, and loved being busy. Doing service for other people gave him great joy and fulfillment.
Mark loved antiques, especially vintage cars.
