Mark Alan Frisk was born in Toledo, OH in the old Flower Hospital to Katherine & Roger Frisk, Sr. on 05/14/1960. Mark is survived by his older Sister – Terry Lynn Frisk (Ronald Tisdale, Sr.), their Children Ronals Tisdale, Jr and Richard Dawson and also survived by his younger Brother Roger Frisk, Jr (Debra Frisk) and their 3-children: Danielle, Rochelle & Keen Frisk.
Mark attended Bowsher High School and McTigue where he was a stand out Wrestler. His post secondary education was @ Lincoln Electrical & Technical Institute where he became a Certified Welder.
Mark moved to the Tampa Bay area for work and eventually returned to his beloved South Toledo to be around family & friends. That is when he met his wife of 37-years – Arlene Frisk. They moved to the Boston area right after their 05/25/1984 Wedding where Mark became a Navy Certified Welder @ General Dynamics. After 4-years, Mark and his Family moved to the Tampa Bay area due to his wife's military service at that time during Desert Storm.
Mark worked as a Master Welder at both the Tampa Shipyard and at International Ship Repair where he became a fully licensed US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner and joined the dredging crew of The Stuyvesant in Feb 1997.
In 2006, Mark took a Leave of Absence from his Merchant Mariner duties as a Government Contractor for Halliburton/KBR to serve in Afghanistan for 2-years and another 2-years in Iraq to put two of his younger children through College. He returned to the crew of The Stuyvesant in 2010 and remained with them until now.
Mark is further survived by too many shipmates to mention, his wife – Arlene and their 4-children: Shawna Frisk (Ky Vazquez), Benjamin, Kathryn and Mark A. Frisk II and 1-Granddaughter: Aryannah Vazquez
In lieu of Flowers and Cards, the family asks for drop-off of Pet Supplies which will be collected at the Service on Wednesday, 07/21/2021 @ 6 pm and will be donated in his name to the Hillsborough County Falkenburg location Animal Services.
