Mark Dempsey, 44, passed away on September 27, 2021.

He has gone early to his heavenly reward to join his father, his grandparents, his cousins, and the other loved ones who preceded him home.

Mark leaves behind his adoring wife Kristy and their two loving boys, Declan and Braden, his mother and sister, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as his dedicated brothers at Engine 7, Hernando County Fire & Emergency Services, and other units he served with.

Mark started his career as a fireman in 2001 in the Hernando County Fire Department.  He was promoted to Captain in 2017 and was currently serving at Fire Station #7.  The last couple of years he rode up as an Acting Battalion Chief and was the Coordinator for the Hazardous Materials Team.   Mark has been an outstanding Medic, Firefighter, and First Responder, community advocate, sports aficionado, and the best father and husband anyone could have.
