Dr. Mario Lambert Pereira, 50, of Tampa, FL, passed away on November 11, 2017. Mario is a graduate of King High School. He proudly served in the US Army during the Gulf War-Desert Storm. He was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany with the 11th Chemical Company. He was the recipient of the Bronze Service Star, Parachutist Badge, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Southeast Asia Service Metal. Mario went on to become an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon; he graduated from Tufts Medical School, completed his residency at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, and served his fellowship at the Texas Back Institute. Mario obtained his board certification in Orthopedic Surgery as a Spine Surgeon. He was a member of Living Water Ministries of Seffner, where he served as the drummer for the praise and worship team. He enjoyed spending time out on the water and playing his drums. He is preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Pereira. Mario is survived by his loving family, wife of 23 years, Diane Stets-Pereira; children, Gabriella E Pereira, Alexandria O Pereira, Madeline R Pereira, and Antonio L Pereira; mother, Maria Pereira; father, Herbert Pereira; sisters, Michelle Pereira, Marsha Pereira, Destiny Pereira, and Priscilla London. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 1:15 pm to 3:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. Followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm.
