Marilyn Irma Rossignol Jaqua Obituary
Marilyn Irma Rossignol Jaqua, of Brandon Florida, passed away at the age of 86 on Thursday, September 2, 2021 after a brief illness.
Marilyn was born at the family farm home on March 10, 1935, in the town of Frenchville, Maine, on the border of U.S. and Canada. She is the 4 th of 7 children (Bert, Winette, Albin, Rudolph, Adeline, and Ronald) born to Leo and Yvonne Rossignol.
She attended Madawaska Valley District High School and started her first job with Joffre's Drug Store, Madawaska, Maine, 1953, moving on to work at Fraser's Paper Mill as one of the Finishing Room crew.
She met and fell in love with Loren 'Jake' Jaqua at 19 years of age and married him November 29, 1954 in Madawaska, Maine. During their marriage, she raised her family while traveling with Jake to many Air Force assignments: Loring A.F.B., Maine to Sidi Slimane, Morocco, to Ellsworth A.F.B, South Dakota, to Hickam A.F.B, Hawaii, to Boling A.F.B., Washington, D.C., with final assignment at Gunter A.F.B., Montgomery, Alabama. With Jake's retirement in 1972, they made their final move in 1973, settled down and started the second half of their lives in Brandon, Florida.
Marilyn had many different careers during her life and made many dear friends that she loved and held dear. She balanced being a working mother and found her greatest happiness and joy raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she cherished and nurtured as only a devoted grandmother could.
She shared her love of sewing and quilting with family and friends over the years, gifting her works of art to them for birth events, Christmas gifts or 'just because' she wanted them to have something very special she made.
Her joy of gardening could always be seen in the result of the work she put into her plants and flowers. She took a lot of pride in having a beautiful yard no matter how challenging it may have gotten for her in her later years. She had the gift of a green thumb and could make anything grow and flourish.
Her husband, Jake, mother (Yvonne), father (Leo), brothers (Bert, Albin, Rudolph) and sister (Winette) have all welcomed her to her Heavenly home.
She is our Guardian Angel now and is survived and loved by brother Ronald Rossignol, sister Adeline Rossignol Garland, her daughter Lynn Montgomery, three sons, Mark (Linda), Jay (Lissa) and Brian (Theresa). Her heavenly heart will continue to watch over and love her eight grandchildren, who knew her as Nani - (Bryan, Brian, Jayson, Danielle, Callie, Lindsey, Matthew (Jenn) and Scott) and three great grandchildren (Brooke, Cameron, and Madison).
