Marie Pavlicek





Marie passed peacefully from this life on the morning of October 28, 2014, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life.



Marie was born in Gretna, LA on November 6, 1929. She married Arland on October 5th, 1948, settling in Montevido, MN to begin their married life. Arland and Marie moved to Washington, DC, Luling, LA, Alvin, TX, Fort Dodge, IA, and Lawrence, KS throughout their marriage. In 1994, after raising her children, Marie, and her husband Arland, retired in Valrico, FL where she lived the remainder of her life.



Motherhood and her family were the focus of all aspects of Marie's life. Her hobbies were cooking, painting, ceramics, gardening, and taking exquisite care of her home and family.



Marie is survived by three children (and spouses): Deborah Knudson (Richard), Arland Pavlicek, Jr. (Michelle), and Pam Ravins (Jay); eight grandchildren: Jenna Godlewski (Leo), Jeffrey Knudson (Selina), Jared Knudson (Deanette), Jason Pavlicek (Bah), Rebecca Pavlicek, Ashley, Nick, and Amanda Ravins; and ten great grandchildren: Anna, Luke, and Elizabeth Godlewski, Madelynn, Alise, and Benjamin Knudson, and Charles, Campbell, Conner, and Caelan Knudson. Marie is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Shirley Lutz.
