Karwacka, Maria 81, of Riverview, Florida, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Stanislaw Wierzchon. She graduated with high honors, receiving her postal services certificate, and retired just short of 40 years as a postmaster in Poland. Maria was known to family and friends to have a virtuous, compassionate heart, always desiring to help anyone in need by putting their needs ahead of her own. A loving devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she worked diligently to overcome all obstacles in life so that her children and other could achieve better lives for themselves. Beloved by all her friends and acquaintances, Maria was considered by all as possessing a gracious soul.
Survivors include a son, Andrzej Karwacki, Lubin, Poland; a daughter Sophia Christman, Riverview, FL, and her beloved grandson, Andrew (Andrzejek) with whom she spent much time, and took much pride in his achievements. Maria leaves a sister, Sophia, her husband, Dr. Jacob Caflisch III, and nephews Jacob Caflisch IV, Dylan Steinwand, Brandon, FL, Kazimierz Wierzchon of Poland; Yvonne Steinwand, her husband Kurt, Brandon, FL, and Kimberly Caflisch, Tampa, FL. She also leaves several cousins in Poland who loved her and will miss her deeply.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL. Condolences my be offered at www.serenitymeadows.com
