Maria Vazquez GallegoEntered the Celestial Heaven above on March 31, 2015 at the age of 83. She was a long-time resident of Orlando, Florida until moving to Riverview in January 2014. Originally from Comerio, Puerto Rico, Maria moved with her husband and children to Miami in 1979. They later moved to Orlando, Florida in 1980 where she worked in the hospitality industry for the Radisson Hotel. Maria was an accomplished seamstress; talent that she passed on to her daughter and granddaughter. She was preceded by her husband, Rafael Gallego of 59 years. Maria is survived by her daughter, Yolanda of Brandon, son, Gilberto of Orlando, Son-in- Law, John, and daughter-in-law, Marisol. Maria was blessed with six grandchildren, Anne Marie and Jack from Brandon and Teresa, Megan, Tamra, and A. Jay of Maryland. She was also blessed with five great grandchildren. Maria is also survived by her sister, Carmen, her brother, Candido and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was also a Breast Cancer Survivor of 5 years. Maria was a quiet person who was always willing to help those around her. No matter what befell her, Maria always kept her sense of pride and humor. This was very evident when she was diagnosed with Cancer, never letting the chemo treatments slow her down. While she is no longer on this earth, she will always be remembered as our beloved "Mami" and "Abuela". We would like to express our most sincere appreciation to LifePath Hospice who through their "angels of mercy" cared for her during her illness.
