Edwards, Maria, 52, passed away unexpectedly July 21, 2014. She was born in Chicago on January 20, 1962. Maria devoted her life to helping others. She had a bachelor's degree in nursing and recently was pursuing a career in women's health. Maria had a huge heart and always went the extra mile for her patients. Her smile and laughter could light up a room. She spent a few years in Savannah, GA where she raised her three loving daughters; Rachel, 21, Katie, 20, and Diana, 17. In 2010, she moved to Sun City Center, where she spent her last six months courageously fighting her battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her father Joseph Mayer; survived by her mother Aloisia Mayer, younger sister Margie Moore, and three daughters. The service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Saturday July 26, 2014, at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior.
