Maria del Carmen Cordero Wilkerson, 89, passed away on 18 February 2025 in Brandon, Florida.

Maria was born in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, to Miguel Cordero and Dolores Jimenez on 1 April 1935. She married Airman James N. Wilkerson on 17 June 1955 in Quebradillas. She worked as an ESL teacher's aide for many years; impacting the lives of many children who credit her love and faith in them for success later in life.

Maria is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James. She is survived by her treasured children; Jeanne Wilkerson, James Wilkerson, and Janet Polson; and adored grandson Philip Wilkerson.

The Parroquia San Rafael Arcángel de Quebradillas conducted a Mass for Rest. The family wishes to extend our deep gratitude to the staff at Compass Rose of Brandon for treating Maria with dignity and love.
