Maria Isabel Ascarate, 88, of Riverview, FL, passed away on April 7, 2017. Maria had the gift of hospitality, she enjoyed welcoming people into her home, serving them delicious meals, and sharing time with them. She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Carlos Gomez. Maria is survived by her loving family, sons, Carlos (Maria) Gomez, Pablo Gomez, and Luis Fernando Gomez; daughter, Amelia Teresa (Jose Eddier) Velasquez, Mariella (Manuel) Rameriz, Esperanza Gomez, and Dora (Gonzalo) Mosquera; sister, Nedy Duarte; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation on Monday, April 10, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. A funeral service for Maria will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home.
