Sura, Margaret A. (Peggy), 77, of Brandon FL, passed away September 24, 2009. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Hubert J. O'Neill and Anna K. (McEvoy) O'Neill. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret T. Carey of Brandon and her son, George A. Sura Jr. of Stamford CT, her grandchildren, Megan C. Carey and Ryan O. Carey of Brandon, and great-grandson, Jayden P. Meadows also of Brandon. She is also survived by her brother, Frank O'Neill (Milford, CT), her sister, Kathleen Murphy (Monroe Township, NJ), her brother, Hubert O'Neill (New Bedford, MA), and many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received between 10 and 11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. memorial mass on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Nativity Catholic Church (Chapel) in Brandon FL. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Michaels Cemetery in Bridgeport, CT. Peggy was born and raised in Bridgeport CT. where she raised a family and was an active member of her church's choir. She moved to Florida in 1989, and again involved herself in volunteer activities with her church. She was a prolific quilter, making quilts for charitable causes, winning an award for having produced the most quilts in a year. True to her name "Peggy O'Neill" was a lover of all things Irish, and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. We raise the parting glass to this daughter of Ireland, a cherished friend and beloved mother.
