Margaret Alice McGowan, passed away December 1, 2024.  She was born on September 4th 1936 in Salem Oregon as an only child  to loving parents Albert and Lillian Barker.  She had a wonderful childhood. Later she lived out several of her dreams by marrying Robert B. McGowan who later became an attorney. They moved to a large farm in Brandon Florida where Margaret raised numerous animals and live stock and horses. They had four children together: Erin; Blake; Mark; and Cynthia.

They later divorced. Margaret pursued one of her passions and she attended classes and became a commercial artist. Margaret traveled throughout Europe and most of the United States.  Margaret later married a pilot. After his death; she moved across the country to California where she bought her first home.

Margaret continued to pursue her love of art; nature; travel; animals; gardening. She was always a loving person and mother. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Mark McGowan II; Aaron and Ofzerna Schaffer; and Erin and Lance McGowan. Margaret enjoyed helping raise and being part of each of their lives.

Margaret lived her life on her own terms. She lived independently up until her 88th birthday. She enjoyed her life and  set a great example for all.

She will truly be missed but never forgotten and loved by all.
