Margaret A Hubbard's Obituary

Margaret Ann Hoffmann Hubbard, 79, passed away March 29, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 4, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to George and Ruth Hoffmann.

Margaret married the love of her life , Richard Hubbard, on April 17, 1970. Together they shared a deep love of traveling. They embraced every opportunity to explore new places, creating lasting memories that became a very special part of their life. They also loved “treasure hunting” at Saturday morning estate sales, a tradition that brought her great joy.

Margaret was proud of her Kentucky roots and she carried a love of her home state throughout her life. This was something that was reflected in family traditions, most notably hosting the annual Kentucky Derby gathering with her kids and grandkids. Everyone looked forward to “Derby Day” at Nana's.

She also found great joy working in her beautiful yard , spending time outdoors and caring for her home, flowers and garden.

In addition to her devoted husband Richard, she is survived by her daughters Tammy Lockwood (Mark) , Kimberly Hubbard, Robin Schilling (Tom) and Megan Brown (Jeremey). She was Nana to Wilson, Ellie, Benjamin, Jensen, Natalie, Grace, Thomas, David, Mitchell, Callum, Lydia and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Markwell of Louisville, KY.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and her infant son, Jason Alan Hubbard.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, family and cherished traditions. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her and we find comfort in knowing she is at peace with our Heavenly Father.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at Florida Cancer Specialists for the care they provided during Mom’s illness. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her memory to the Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa.
