Barbella, Margaret M., of Valrico, FL, a retired nurse from Kings Highway Hospital, Brooklyn, NY and 18 year resident of Florida, died December 29, 2009. She was 84. The daughter of the late Roland P. Schuler and Margaret Pritchard, she was born February 24, 1925 in Larksville, Pa. She was married to the late John J. Barbella, Sr. She was Past President of Brooklyn Council Kings County Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Past President of S/Sgt Vincent J. Barbella Post #8501, VFW, Past President of M.O.C., former board member of the Strawberry Ridge Homeowner's Association, founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Strawberry Ridge, member of the Strawberry Singers and Strawberry Ridge Craft Club and supervised the Lending Closet for many years. She was predeceased by one son, John J. Barbella, Jr. Margaret's survivors include three daughters, Margaret Provanzana (Nicholas) and Jayne Pergola (Joseph) of Valrico, FL, Christine Fitzgerald (Edward) of So. Burlington, VT; son, Gerard Barbella (Ellen) of Baldwin, NY; brother, William Schuler of San Antonio, TX; sister, Doris Vespro of Long Island, NY; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 10:00 am. at Nativity Catholic Church Chapel, 705 E Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL. Burial will be St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY at the convenience of the family.
