Obituary

Lurline Delores Carpenter was born on May 27, 1950 to Vivian Richards and Adlin Gabbidon in Craigmill, Portland, Jamaica West Indies. She attended and graduated school in Buff Bay, Portland. At the young age of 20, she migrated to Canada and later to the United States. She relocated to Miami, FL where she met and married her husband Frederick and they made their home there for over forty years until moving to Brandon, Florida in January 2019.

Lurline was the fifth in line of seven siblings (Gloria, Betty, Hylton, Linda, Enid, and Jean). At the time of her death, Lurline was retired from a long career as a Sales Representative for a Jewelry Company. Her favorite past time was listening to gospel on the radio and reading the bible. She was a quiet soul who lived a simple and peaceful lifestyle.

Lurline was a member of the Universal Truth Center of Miami, Florida under the pastorate of  Senior Minister - The Reverend Charles M. Taylor.

Lurline was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and Adlin; Brother Hylton Richards, sisters: Gloria Clarke and Betty Richards.

She leaves cherished memories with her husband, Frederick Carpenter; Her children Nadine Wynter-Livingston and Shomari and wife Clarissa Carpenter. Her grandchildren: Juwuan Livingston, Javon Livingston, Aiuanna Carpenter and her mother Lakeshia Townsend, Anthony Carpenter and his mother Shae Nance, Shomari Carpenter Jr., and Sincere Carpenter. She leaves behind such dedication and admiration for sisters: Linda Richards, Enid Richards and Jean Bell. She cherished her cousins Vivienne, Glenn, Garth and Tony. Her nieces and nephews: Cornell Clarke, Fay Clarke McCarthy , Jacqueline Clarke, Otis Clarke, Sophia Hudson, Lorraine Hudson, Colleen Foster, Suzette Foster, Mario Payne, Kevin Mowatt, Damion Richards, Diedre Dixon and Billy Ray Simpson. Lurline shared precious memories with a host of friends too numerous to mention. Each relationship with every friend and family added value to her life.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview, FL with burial to follow at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends on hour prior to her service, from 11:00AM to 12:00PM
