Lt. Col. Marion Boyd Bowers, USMC Retired, passed away peacefullyand fittinglyon Memorial Day, May 29, 2017. He is predeceased by his wife, Amelia in 2004, his wife, Virginia in 2006, his son, Bob in 2007, his son-in-law, Oz in 2015, and his granddaughter, Christine in 1986. He leaves behind three daughters, Jill, Bonnie and Yancey, two sons Tom and Patrick, two sons-in-law, David and Mark, a daughter-in-law, Dotty; grandchildren, Dierdre, Patrick, Sean, Day, Dane, Catherine, Stacy and Grace; and seven great-grandchildren.

Born in Baton Rouge, LA, on June 29, 1922 to Glay C. Bowers and Ouida Benton Bowers and raised by Glay and Pauline B. Bowers, he proudly served our country as a U.S Marine Corps. Pilot from January of 1943 through November of 1964.

A committal service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, June 5, 2017, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Humane Society and LifePath Hospice.
