Mahieu, Louis J., 82, of Brandon, passed away on December 17, 2011. He is a lifelong resident of Florida, who proudly served in the United States Air Force. Louis retired from the Tampa Police Department; he achieved many service awards during his career, some of which were from the Tampa Police Department, Pasco County Sheriff's office, Nassau County Sheriff's office as well as the Arizona Sheriff's Association. He also helped develop the first Talking Car, "Crime Buster" for the Nassau County Sheriff's Office. Louis is survived by his loving family, wife, Dorothy; stepdaughters, Debria (Ronald) Francious, Bernadette Heyse and Denise (Nelson) Gardener; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and his beloved dachshund, Lucy. Louis will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery.
