Obituary

Lorretta Mary D'Angelo, 76 of Dade City and Lithia passed away on September 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Born in New York on March 25, 1949, to Herbert and Lorretta Brink, she grew up in the Bronx and relocated to Tampa in the early 80s with her 3 children.

Lorretta was funny, smart, caring, and quick-witted. She could always make you laugh with her sarcastic comments and dark humor. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed going to plays at the Straz Center, having lunch with friends and attending family get-togethers.

She worked in mortgage banking until the late 90s when she decided to pursue a career in healthcare. She loved caring for others and worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including skilled nursing facilities, home health care, hospice, and an elementary school clinic.

An avid gardener, Lorretta loved to spend time tending to her plants. You could always bring her a plant that was on its last leg, and somehow, she was always able to bring life and beauty back to it.

Known affectionately as Memaw/Mimi to her grandchildren, she loved spending time with them. Whether it was horse shows; band events; soccer games, or dance recitals, you could always find her cheering in the crowd. She was so very proud of all of her grandchildren and loved each of them so very much.

Lorretta is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lorretta Brink. She is survived by her 3 children, Geoffrey (Susan) D'Angelo, Melissa D'Angelo, and Thomas (Tammy) D'Angelo; her grandchildren, Gabriel D'Angelo, Ethan D'Angelo, Kahla (Carl) Runge, Anthony D'Angelo and Natalya D'Angelo, her brother Joseph (Mary Jane) Brink and her sister Dorothy Brink as well as her niece, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rest easy, Mom. we love you so much and will miss you tremendously.
