Lila Rosalie "Rosie" Smith, age 63, of Wimauma, FL, died Wednesday June 3rd at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center after a hard-fought Battle with lung cancer.
Rosie was born April 20, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA to Anthony and Patricia Major. Rosie was married 44 years to her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Smith.
A loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend, Rosie was known throughout her community as a woman who cared deeply for others. A career banker, Rosie built long-lasting relationships with her clients and residents of her local community.
Rosie is survived by her husband Ronnie Smith, her mother Patricia (Major), her brothers Tony (Norris), Joe, and Michael (Major), her three daughters Melisa (Garner), Tiffany (Mallon), and Patty (Wishtun), and her grandson Levi (Garner). All of these she loved dearly.
The family will host a memorial service in Rosie's honor on Saturday, June 13th, 4:00-6:00pm at Sun City Christian Center: 17566 U.S. Hwy. 301 South, Wimauma, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rosie's honor to The Lung Cancer Association.
