IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leopold Frederick
Renz
February 6, 1944 – November 19, 2023
Leopold Frederick Renz of Riverview, Florida passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2023. Leo was born February 6, 1944, in Queens, New York where he was raised. He raised his family with his wife, Mary, in New Jersey.
Leo was known for his love of the Marine Corp, ability to work with his hands, and going on adventures with his family. He enjoyed collecting trains, coins, and Marine Corp memorabilia along with placing his Marine Corp stickers on everyone's cars while they weren't looking.
You could always find Leo sitting in his chair on the front porch, taking in the views while listening to his windchimes and getting to know his neighbors. He was a hard worker who retired from his career as a truck driver after 38 years. Leo's greatest joys in life were his wife, son, late daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Leo is survived by his wife of 65 years. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Leo and Tami, of Valrico FL, and brother, Gary, of El Paso, Texas. In addition, Leo leaves behind three grandchildren, Ashlie, Kristin, and Julia, and six great grandchildren, Elijah, Maddox, Zoey, Levi, Lily, and Millie.
Services will be held at the Resurrection Church of Riverview on January 12th at 10 AM and followed by the funeral at Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
