Wright, Lawrence (Larry) E., 91, of Valrico passed away January 14, 2013. He was born April 15, 1921 in Bainbridge, Ohio to the late John F. and Catherine (Burns) Wright. He was the husband of Jane (Phillips) Wright with whom he shared 44 wonderful years of marriage. Cofounder of Wright Thomas Equipment, he worked in heavy construction equipment sales before retiring to Florida. He attended Ohio State University and later proudly served his country with the U.S. Army 82nd Paratrooper Airborne Division, 508th Parachute Regiment. After parachuting into Normandy on 6 June 1944 he continued fighting across the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe and was awarded the Bronze Star and Presidential Unit Award among other campaign awards. For years, Larry was an avid golfer. He was also was a member of the Elks #2383 and enjoyed dancing with his sweetheart Jane. Along with his wife, Larry is survived by his loving children; Dr. Lawrence (Vicki) Wright, Jr., Candice (Tommy) Tarr, Kathy (Bob) Shires, Deryl (Beverly) Brown, and Andrea (Jim) Griffin, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. A Funeral service will be on Saturday January 19, 2013 at 2pm at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home. The family will receive guests from 12:30 to the start of the service. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens.
