Obituary

Lawrence Albert Harney Sr., 94, passed away in Ruskin, FL on November 18, 2022 after a long illness.  "Lolly" was born on January 15, 1928 in Wocester, Massachusetts to the late Frederick and Lena Harney.  Larry is predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Donna, his sons-in-law Bill and Duan, his brother Paul, and sister Trudy, and is survived by his brother Freddie and sister Joyce, and his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

Larry will be remembered as a good brother, loving husband, caring father, and much-loved grandfather.  A star athlete in his youth, Larry enlisted in the Army during WWII and attended Brown University after his enlistment.  In his professional life, Larry rose to store manager for several large retail chains.  Golf, good jokes, drinking scotch, spending time with family, and listening to music were his most favorite past-times.

Our family express sincere gratitude and appreciation to our father's caregivers whose loving care helped Dad and us through Dad's final life chapter.

Dad will be interred at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida next to our lovely mother, Donna.  Both now peacefully together in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to LifePath Hospice Sun City Center Hospice House, or visit the family bench placed in honor of Mom and Dad located on Honeymoon Island State Park in Dunedin, Florida.
