Damels, Kosta V. "Chuck", 76, of Valrico, passed away on January 17, 2013. Chuck moved to Valrico from Cornwall, NY. He was retired from the New York Telephone Company, a member at the Diamond Hill Golf Club and attended First United Methodist Church of Brandon. He was born in the United States and returned to Greece as a toddler with his mother and sister and lived there during the German occupation. His family returned to the US in 1946, he grew up in Albany, NY, having attended school there, from 1957 to 1960 he served in the US Army. Chuck is survived by his loving family, wife of 36 years, Sue Damels; sister, Helen (John) Vasilakis; nephew, Satbir (Laura)Nayar; niece, Daphne Nayar; great nieces and nephews, Garrett, Julia and Leila; sister-in-law, Kerry (Bill) Eyre; niece-in-law, Dawn (Eric) Martin; nephew-in-law, Bill (Wanda) Eyre; great nieces and nephews-in-law, Cody, Sabrina and Glen. There will be a memorial service for Chuck on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Brandon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to LifePath Hospice at lifepath-hospice.org
